This sunscreen is from the spanish company cantabria labs which has many awesome products and good research behind it.
On the surface it should have been the perfect one for me.
It’s sutible for oliy skin with sebum regulating and mattifying effects plus dry touch.
Sutible for acne prone skin being alcohol free and non comedogenic, enriched with anti-bacterial, anti-microbial complex.
It’s sun protection should be superb with 7 different advanced EU filters giving it high UVB as well as UVA (being rated pa++++ which is unusual for european sunscreens to use this asian system). It also protects from visible and infrared light (HEVL and IR-A) with ” Biomimetic melanin”.
Using it is really nice! spreads easily and absorbs real fast with a dry touch feeling. Applying and reapplying is easy peasy.
I don’t shine at all with this one which is lovely and hard to find. Zero white cast obviously even though it contains titanium dioxide.
It contains a plethora of antioxidants and vitamins, guarding from sun damage and DNA repairs supposedly. Those are nice to have ingredients but obviously hard to say how efficient or do they really work… it’s more about trusting the company marketing which i do.
Purchased at about 18$, i find it a reasonable price. not too high but wouldn’t call it affordable.
Now for the cons… It has a stench unfortunately. Its actually kind of a nice smell and pretty subtle, but it’s there and it’s persistent. I could smell it in the end of the day when i did my PM routine. There are at least 3 perfuming ingredients in the INCI. Wish they had left it scentless. Though i must say my skin is usually pretty sensitive, this didn’t cause any irritation for me and it is marketed towards sensitive skin so IDK.
It is not water / sweat resistant which is a con for me at this point, mainly in the summer when i sweat a lot.
The worst part for me was that it gave me a sweaty feel sometimes. I’m a sweaty guy as it is so no need for any sweat causing products LOL. It’s hard to say if it’s just a feeling or does it actually make me sweat more, hard to test something like this. I did had this feeling with the facetheory M3 as well. Maybe there is some ingredient which makes me sweat more? IDK if it’s something individual or common. Would love to hear if someone else had this happen to them with this product or other ones.
I’m definitely on team Heliocare now and would check some of their other products. They have so many ranges that I’m not sure what is the actual differences between them.
Overall there is a lot going on for this one, mainly need to sort out this sweaty thing. Should be an awesome choice for every oily skinned looking for a dry touch anti shine SPF.
