Hi! So I have a nostalgic deep connection with this perfume. When i tried it for the first time, I was gifted a tiny tester from a friend, november/December of 2019.
Alot of things were happening in my life when I started wearing this scent, most notably being that I fell in love. Madly in love. Eventually we got married. Our love story was very poetic when we met, and just thinking about the scent of this perfume would transport me back to those memories. Surges of electric butterfly’s just from imagining what it use to smell like.
So last year on my birthday, he surprised me with a big bottle of it. I cried lol. I was so excited for it to become my signature scent.
I’ve been using it for around 6 months…and, I just don’t think it’s how I remember it.
First noticeable thing, is it is really weak. Probably the weakest perfume I’ve ever owned that cost that much. I’ll spray it, and I swear to God, it seems like the smell starts dissipating within seconds. Usually by a half hour I can barely smell it, by the hour mark it’s basically gone.I find this so strange, because one of the things I remember about that tester vividly is how rich yet light the scent was, the richness of it absolutely would last, combine with my own smell, and I never needed much of it. I remember putting it on before a date with my husband back when we first met, and could still smell it on my warm points 6-7 hours later. I even remember how it would linger on my jacket.
The stuff I have now feels like water compared to what I use to have.
The other thing I noticed, is while it does provoke memories for me and initially was intoxicating, I notice now that it almost seems just slightly different than that tester bottle. The one I have now smells more airy if that makes sense. Like there’s a note missing. A gap within the fragrance is the only way I know how to word it.
I don’t wear it daily, and I’m definitely not nose blind to it.I’ve asked others opions on it in person, so far everyone has agreed. It smells elegant and luxurious, but light. And even multiple sprays doesn’t make it last.
A few weeks ago, I was frustrated so I tried all the tricks. Took a hot shower, put some Vaseline on my warm spots after the shower and sprayed it on those spots.. same result. I even went hard one day and over sprayed it, Any other perfume sprayed that much would give anyone within a mile a migraine. Not only did heavy applying it do nothing, but it still only lasted maybe an hour, drenched In it.
Why.. Why(._.) ..
Did they change it? Was the tester just…better for some reason?
I know there’s others in that line with similar names, but I’m like 99.9999% sure it was blooming bouquet.
